Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources In trunk, since some days (a week or so), if you remove the .index* files (unfortunately this is needed from time to time), the folder for which the index was recreated will contain several messages having the date set to 2106-02-07 08:28. Always this date and as far as I saw it happens always for the same messages. If you click on such a message, the date changes back to the correct one (but the message remains at the end of the list if the folder was sorted after Date). You have to switch to another folder and back to correct the sort order.
Same problem here with KMail 1.10.0 on KDE 4.1.0 (Debian Sid). Note that is may not be a KMail bug. I've had this problem also on Akregator articles dates (but in KMail I still see the problem in my inbox). Googling around made me thing that its a bug related to an overflow on an epoch time. I can confirm this bug in kubuntu 8.10 packages, KMail 1.10.1 This bug is very very annoying because you can't find your new emails easily (obviously without using the filter). A similar bug in akregator has been fixed: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=166721
bug still present in kde 4.2 beta 2 (kde 4.1.85) kubuntu packages (it seemed to be solved in kde 4.1)

Still present in KMail 1.12.2 / KDE 4.3.2.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
