Description Andrew Skvortzov 2008-01-23 14:07:50 UTC
Version: 0.50.00 (using KDE 4.0.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I often receive spam-messages in icq with message or authorization request from contact who is not present in my contact list. These spam messages contain links to website or file with virus. :-(

I think that spam-protection is really usefull feature. Menu "Options" contains checkbox "Receive messages with links from unknown contacts".

This functionality is present in the Privacy plugin.
Comment 2 Andrew Skvortzov 2008-01-25 10:59:05 UTC
Sorry, but the Privacy plugin does not block spam-messages in authorization requests. Spam information is in request reason.
Comment 3 Charles Connell 2008-01-25 17:16:05 UTC
Okay. It looks like the only way to fix this is protocol-by-protocol. I'll move it to ICQ then.
Comment 4 Matt Rogers 2008-01-26 02:00:20 UTC
I won't blocked authorization requests from ICQ contacts whether they contain spam or not. If the privacy plugin doesn't prevent spam messages, then please file a new bug request for that.
