Description Tscheesy 2008-01-22 19:33:22 UTC
Version: 4.00.00 (KDE 4.0.0) (using 4.00.00 (KDE 4.0.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.22-14-generic

pure kde4.0.0 installation - no further configuration

stopped the strigi service in kde3.5.8 manually and didn't switch it on again (&don't know howTo)

so perhaps its more a wish for a feature than a real crash

a feature for checking the services and eventually to switch it on

"protocol not supported strigi" -> this was the system message

(by Tscheesy : can't edit previous post, bugzilla does not let me log in -> i always get the query-page)

Protokoll wird nicht unterstützt strigi is the localized error message

Comment 4 Jos van den Oever 2009-01-03 12:09:57 UTC
The protocol strigi:// is unknown when kio_strigi.so is not installed.
This protocol is only available on KDE 3, not on KDE 4.
So yes, this is a feature request for porting kio_strigi.so / strigi:// to KDE 4.

Strigi has been replaced by Baloo. Please do submit a new bug report for frameworks-baloo if you continue having issues with search.
