Description Ferdinand Gassauer 2008-01-16 20:45:03 UTC
Version: 1.9.6 (enterprise 20070904.708012) (using 3.5.8 "release 31.1" , openSUSE )
Compiler: Target: x86_64-suse-linux
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.22.13-0.3-default

to reproduce

1) enter a search term - which reduces the number of displayed message headers
2) click find messages:
- enter different search criteria here - which displays a list at least partly different from (1)
- click on one of the messages which is not in the list (1)
- the message is NOT displayed in the window (1)

while this is propably correct in the sense of programming - it is not very intuitive. The user sees list (2) and will not immediately understand, why the message is not displayed.

IMHO the search term in (1) should be
* cleared on opening "find messages" - or
* at least a question should be asked "clear search criteria?" or
* eventually copy the search criteria of (1) into the search window (2).

The first one -- after all the last command user executed was "show me _this_ message" and such wish should be obeyed no matter what user did in the past.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
