Version: 1.9.6 (enterprise 20070904.708012) (using 3.5.8 "release 31.1" , openSUSE ) Compiler: Target: x86_64-suse-linux OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.22.13-0.3-default to reproduce 1) enter a search term - which reduces the number of displayed message headers 2) click find messages: - enter different search criteria here - which displays a list at least partly different from (1) - click on one of the messages which is not in the list (1) - the message is NOT displayed in the window (1) while this is propably correct in the sense of programming - it is not very intuitive. The user sees list (2) and will not immediately understand, why the message is not displayed. IMHO the search term in (1) should be * cleared on opening "find messages" - or * at least a question should be asked "clear search criteria?" or * eventually copy the search criteria of (1) into the search window (2).
The first one -- after all the last command user executed was "show me _this_ message" and such wish should be obeyed no matter what user did in the past.
