Version: 0.7 (using KDE 3.5.8 "release 31.1" , openSUSE ) Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18.8-0.7-default When an installer adds a new entry in an empty folder (e.g. Adventure) in KDE-menu it is not shown in KDE-menu. Only in kmenuedit. I have the same behaviour when adding menuentries by myself. No idea what KDE-menu does here. I know it is normal that KDE hides empty subfolder - but I think when I put a new programm in a subfolder it should be shown in menu, right ? I wondered that programs do not add application icons to KDE-menu. Today I found them in kmenuedit.
You have to attach your .config/menus/applications-kmenuedit.menu file and .local/share/applications/<installed .desktop file> here to see what the installer actually added to debug this.
Sorry, I moved over to a new Linux-version with KDE4. The older system does not exist anymore. If I face a similiar error I will open a new ticket and attach them menufile. For now I can only let you close this ticket. 1. kmenuedit does not store new items in the menu. That is, after definition, they do not appear in the menu, 2. The debian menu which appears as a sub-menu in kmenuedit does not appear in the menu. Why not? I have programs which do are not part of the KDE system, but are Debian packages and should appear in the Debian sub-menu.
Close it according to comment #3. @poenikatu: Please open a new report instead of hijacking an old report from the KDE3 era. Also I don't have that Debian menu problem when using Debian Sid.
