Description menschmeier 2008-01-12 13:02:40 UTC
Version: KMail 1.9.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 (Gentoo 4.1.2 p1.0.2)
OS: Linux

This day I had to shutdown my xserver during a running kde seesion by pressing ctrl+alt+backspace.

After this in the restarted kde session kmail/kontact shows the behavior that all mail I try to read got blank and are displayed like this:
Subject. No Subjec
Sender: unknown
Date: unkown

I had to restart the system to stop kmail destroying emails when I click on them.

Probably only the index files got corrupted during the crash.
Try to delete your index files (~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail/[..]/*index*).

This is probably also a duplicate of bug 121272.
