Description Daniele 2008-01-11 12:13:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 4.0.0)

In dolphin it's impossible to create a folder because in the menu with the right click it's not present the voice "New Folder".

In the console I see this message:
QWidget::insertAction: Attempt to insert null action

Hi Daniele! This looks like a configuration issue - did you recompile your KDE 4.0.0 version yourself or is it an official package from your distribution? If you compiled it yourself, please take care deleting old configuration files... Thanks!

Same issue noticed in my KDE 4 Dolphin. I'm using KDE 4 on my Kubuntu 7.10
The Create new folder option is not available in the right click menu. Only Link to Device is there.
Comment 3 Andrei Chitic 2008-01-12 11:33:39 UTC
Create new folder absent from the File menu also.
Comment 4 Jay LaCroix 2008-01-12 22:38:12 UTC
I can confirm this also with my 64-bit install of Kubuntu 7.10 and KDE 4.0.

This option is also not present on the desktop.

Compiled from source, KDE: 4.00.80 & Dolphin: 1.0. I cannot reproduce this bug.
Comment 6 Kristin Shoemaker 2008-01-13 12:51:37 UTC
I can also confirm this with 64 bit Kubuntu 7.10, and KDE 4.0 installed from the binaries as per Kubuntu's wiki instructions. (RC2 was not previously on the machine.)

I just get the link to device option.
Comment 7 FiNeX 2008-01-13 13:00:40 UTC
So it seems more likely a problem of the packages you've used.
Comment 8 Kristin Shoemaker 2008-01-13 13:40:07 UTC
Very possible. (But I want to mention I am using 4.0.0, and Dolphin 1.0, not 4.0.80...) Will try the LiveCD with KDE4, see if it happens on that as well.
Comment 9 Kristin Shoemaker 2008-01-13 18:12:31 UTC
Does not happen on a SuSE i586 LiveCD running KDE4. It does appear indeed to be a Kubuntu packaging issue...
Comment 10 Andrei Chitic 2008-01-14 22:08:36 UTC
Kubuntu issue indeed.

It is fixed in kdebase-kde4-4.0.0-0ubuntu4
