Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux It should be possible to open the full story in the 'lead' window (where only the story lead in plain text is shown normally) on a per-article basis. Currently it's always opened in a new tab; it can also be configured to always show the full article in the preview pane, but that applies to the whole feed. What's needed is an option in-between. (PS. The above comes from my roommate, which is an 'ordinary user' which I've recently converted to Linux and she has really a lot of usability complaints which are totally not obvious to a geek, but possibly shared by other non-geeks; so expect a slew of usability bug reports ;), even though she uses Gnome as the desktop, with a few KDE apps. I'm reporting for her because she can't really get more expressive in her concerns than look-this-something-does-this-and-it-really-should-do-that-instead, with a lot of hand waving, which is to say that she isn't able to put it into words, even though a problem is apparently very irritating for her.) If you find the concern valid, I'd be more than happy to fix it, but I wanted to seek feedback from the usability people first.
It is possible to show the full article currently, it's a per-feed setting though. See feed's properties and advanced tab. There's an option called "Load the full website when reading articles". Does it do what you need? Anyways, we're more than willing to accept usability problems and possible solutions, so if you have more of them, keep 'em coming. Thanks :-)
Thanks for the heads-up about this. Regarding the feed property: in the original bugreport I mentioned it and stated clearly, that that's not what is needed.
Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.
