Not sure if this is a bug or just how Dolphin is designed to work in details mode.

If I sort by date, it looks like its sorts by type first (file or folder) and then sorts those groups separately by date.  This may be correct, but I would think that sorting by date would sort everything by date.

Dolphin always sorts folders first currently, but for 4.1 it is planned to make this configurable.

This is now implemented: In KDE 4.3.x, the user will be able to choose if folders are shown first or not :-)
