Version: revision 754176 (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: gcc (GCC) 4.1.3 20070929 (prerelease) (Ubuntu 4.1.2-16ubuntu2) When disabling desktop effects, I get strange graphics bugs: First of all, the screen is completely grey, but it doesn't even get repainted correctly. After minimizing a window, the desktop background is correct, but after opening and closing the application launcher menu (or the desktop context menu), there's again a grey rectangle. When drawing a border on the desktop with the mouse, it can be drawed above the panel at the bottom, and instead of the panel I see the desktop background. After logging out and in, it's ok again. When I first enable and then disable desktop effects during the same session (which was started with desktop effects disabled), no problem occurs - it's only visible when I started the session with desktop effects enabled. My graphics drivers are the nvidia binary ones, version 100.14.19.
Hello. Could you be so kind to update the status of this bug? Are you experiencing the same problem? Did you upgrade the kde version you run? have you tried 4.0.4/4.1alpha1? did you upgrade your video driver version? Have you noticed some other symptoms? Thanks.
I just installed KDE 4.0.4 from Kubuntu Hardy packet sources, and it seems to be fixed. Great :)
