Description James Stanley 2007-12-21 12:23:13 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-8 (4.0))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-5-686

I wrote a program that outputs wave files, but of course on the first run there were bugs in it. I was in Konqueror and happened to allow my mouse to rest over the file for a second or so, and then Konqueror locked up. This is easily reproduceable on my system. While my server is up, the file in question is at http://stanley.homelinux.org/bad.wav. To reproduce the lockup, download it and hover your mouse over it.

I don't know anything about the Konqueror code, but I suspect the problem is because Konqueror tries to give me information about the file, but freezes because something is wrong with the file. I am not sure, though I doubt it, whether or not code can be injected.

Konqueror does not recover from the lockup (not in less than half an hour anyway).

I see the box is saying a bunch of stuff is unspecified. I am on Debian Stable with KDE 3.5.5. It is a Celeron 2.54 with about 1Gb RAM.
