Version: (using KDE KDE 3.97.0) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux It takes some seconds, over 3-4 the logout screen to be fully displayed. What's more you can clearly the screen be painted line by line until is fully displayed.
i see the same with the intel driver from git-master (i.e., pretty much broken atm). not really a kde problem, though ... but maybe we can have the effect optional: time how long it takes the first time and if it is excessive, pop up a dialog offering to disable it; additionally add option to kcm (not under session manager, but rather desktop effects or something).
Same here (openSuSE 10.3, Intel laptop graphics)
If you experience the same bug leave a vote or two along with your comment in order to be better tracked. @Oswald Buddenhagen: Although the popup option you suggest sounds a good idea, it can't be thought as the very solution, since this menu is designed to be the default logout screen

works fine with KDE 4.9.0 (intel driver, X.Org X Server 1.10.4)
