Version: 3.5.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs OS: Linux When the window is split (Midnight commander profile) the default target for copy/move operation is the directory of the _current_ panel of the window. However, it would be very useful to have the "target" point to the directory of the other panel (like midnight commander does). BUT since there can be several splits, i propose to have the dropdown list for targets. For example, the window is split in 3 panels (left, right and bottom). left panel is in /home directory right in /var/tmp bottom in /usr/share/docs current panel is right. Choose the file and push "copy" or "move" shortcut button. in the dialog box there should be a choice - which panel to copy: left, bottom or right. left by default (default should be any panel except the current) It would be great if the default panel to copy/move to will be the opposite panel. For right panel - the opposite is left, for bottom - the opposite is top. If the opposite panel is split, then choose any of them.
@Peter: I'm not sure of the utility of this report, but I've found this old wish which could be moved to a dolphin wish, maybe users could be interested in it (not me)... otherwise your TODO list is too short :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) What do you think?
@FiNeX: I'd see this kind of wish in the scope of Konqueror. If this feature should be added to Konqueror for sure I'd take care providing a mechanism inside the Dolphin KPart to achieve this. BTW: the midnight commander profile of Konqueror seems to be quite broken, so I think some efforts are required here first :-/
