Version: 3.5.8 (using KDE 3.5.8, Debian Package 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-3 (lenny/sid)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.21-2-686 first, i selected some hebrew (utf-8) files and right-clicked them and compressed them into a tar.gz file. second, double-clicking the file inside konqueror i see (with the help of ark_part) the filenames in the wrong encoding and i'm unable to extract them. if i open the tar.gz file with the stand alone Ark app it displays the file names correctly and i'm able to extract them. it seems ark_part does not handle the filenames encoding correctly.
Has this still in ark in kde 4?

now, (kde 4.2.1 qt 4.5 / debian experimental) i can not even get into the ark_kpart to view the files if the filename of the *.tar.gz file is in hebrew. see previous attached screen shot.
i changed the compressed tar.gz filename to english (test) and double clicked it (in konqueror) which opened the ark_kpart which does not show the filenames correctly. see following screen shot

seems to be fixed :-) in dolphin, konqueror and krusader after upgrading (last night) to version kde 4.2.2 (Debian experimental) i am attaching an tag.gz file with Hebrew filename that is also including some Hebrew filenames JPEGs (so you can play with it :-)
