konqueror has traditionally been quite bad at detecting character sets. See attached screenshot for display of quite trivial page:
http://www.lightbluetouchpaper.org/2007/11/16/google-as-a-password-cracker/

firefox displays it correctly.

This bug is also reproducible under Gentoo Linux and Mandriva (http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=35610)
