Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux In KDE3 I was used to drag a link or a file from konqueror to a textbox in konqueror and this were filled with the URI of the file/link i've dropped. Example in KDE3.5: 1) Open two konqueror window one with the fileview and one with a webpage with a form with a textbox. 2) You can drag&drop a file to the textbox and see the path filled in It is very useful, but now it's missing.
Actually konqueror open the file (if possible) instead of fill the textarea/textline.
Is someone working on this useful feature?

I would love to see this returned, it was a great feature to just drag n drop a file into a file upload box and have it work.
I too would like to see this feature return in KDE4 (running KDE 4.2.1 from Mandriva right now). I love(d) that feature, finding it really handy to not have to browse for the file AGAIN from within konqueror.

Bug #204684 adds an interesting hint: it should be possible to drop text into line edit and text area (and viceversa), not only dropping files.

Are there any developments regarding this bug? It is pretty annoying not to be able to drag text into text boxes.
Dear user, KHTML (and KJS) was a long time more or less unmaintained and got removed in KF6. Please migrate to use a QWebEngine based HTML component. We will do no further fixes or improvements to the KF5 branches of these components beside important security fixes. For security issues, please see: https://kde.org/info/security/ Sorry that we did not fix this issue during the life-time of KHTML. Greetings Christoph Cullmann
