Description Tomasz J. Kotarba 2007-11-05 13:18:43 UTC
Version: 1.9.6 (using KDE 3.5.6, Kubuntu (feisty) 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu14.1)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-16-generic

Hello,
KMail crashes. I can reproduce the bug each time I run it and it makes the application unusable.

To reproduce I need to act according to the following procedure:

1. run KMail

2. go to any of the local folders with a lot of email messages in it (by "a lot" I mean something like a thousand or more)

3. go to any other folder (even an empty one)

4. KMail crashes instantenously

Any ideas?
Cheers,
T

Comment 2 Tomasz J. Kotarba 2007-11-05 14:28:14 UTC
I am posting this comment here for the sake of completeness.

Tommi marked this bug as a duplicate of #143368 (reported by Neil). I am not sure if it is the case. Here is why:

1. Neil's report suggests that in his case KMail crashes EVERY time he clicks on ANY folder. It is totally different than in my case - it seems I can change folders as many times as I want as long as I omit large folders.

2. Neil doesn't mention anything about a folder size being a factor (i.e. a NUMBER OF EMAILS a folder contains). In my case the size seems to be a crucial factor.

3. My report doesn't mention any problems with "changing accounts".
