Version: 1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux When a process is found by a search, I would like to be able to display its child processes. I have got doubts that the indication for "children" (+ symbol) is correctly working for found tree entries. Example: - Search for "kdesu", then expand "yast2" ... - Search for "boinc", then expand "rosetta" ...
When you do a search, you are filtering the list of processes to only those processes that match your search. The child processes aren't listed because they don't match the search. I could change it to show all the children of a matched search, but that would seem to also be confusing, no? John
I expect that the matched nodes will be displayed. But I want to be still able to go deeper in the process tree. The unfolding of children is blocked by the filtered view at the moment. I do not need the display of "all children" so far.
Will a "drill-down" feature be supported? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_drilling
Markus, Could you explain a bit more?
The "drill-down" will show further data by unfolding of child objects.
Changing this to wishlist as this is not a bug, is there still a wish to move forward on this?
Yes, I am still interested in this navigation feature.

For example if I filter out ksmserver then highlight it and remove the filter I can then see the whole process tree again and since ksmserver is still highlighted I can see its children easily, does that fulfill what you were trying to achieve or there is something I am missing?
I use the first filter as a starting point. I suggest to adjust the applied filter from the search result for the display of children. I would like to avoid the whole process tree view just to unfold the subitems for the selected node.
ksysguard is no longer maintained, in Plasma 6 there is the Plasma system monitor for this task. If your wish is still valid for the Plasma 6 replacement, please re-open and we can move this bug to the new product, thanks!
