Description kde0987 2007-10-23 23:14:46 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)

two in one:

1. the history view is very ugly, it'd be better if the contact names were used (preferrably nicknames, with the ability to see the screen name) rather than "<" and ">".

2. it would be nice if in the chat window the history was separated by a date marker of some sort, like Miranda, Adium, iChat, etc.

I agree, current view needs huge look and feel improvement.

I'm running KDE 4.2.3 at the moment and the history view still looks terribly because it wastes space. It could be much more compact. I looked in the source code and it seems that the window shows html text where each message is shown with timestamp, nick and the message text - but the message text is enclosed in <p> tag. So it has empty line before and after the message text. I was not able to find out where that comes from.

However, ideally, the history plugin would use the same style as is the chat window style configured in configuration.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
