Description Sönke Greimann 2007-10-19 23:56:55 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 4.2.0
OS: Linux

1.) Observed behaviour: When using the "ftp://www.ftp-site.tld@www.ftp-site.tld/" syntax, Konqueror prompts for password, correctly identifying server and username (which happen to be identical in this case. However, Adress bar then promptly mongles the username in the URI to something like "ftp://www.ft...te.tld@www.ftp-site.tld". Subsequently, if an attempt is made to download files, Konqueror prompts for password again, taking the new (wrong) username "www.ft...te.tld" from the URI.

2.) Reproducible: Always

3.) Expected behaviour: Konqueror should remember username and server during session and not shorten the URI.

I think it might be a misguided attempt against some phishing attacks or something...

Hi Maksim,

Thanks for marking this as a duplicate. I searched, but must have used the wrong terms for searching...
