Version: kde-filesystem-3.92-9.fc7.noarch.rpm kdebase-3.5.7-13.1.fc7.x86_64.rp m kdebase-3.5.7-13.1.fc7.i386.rpm kdelibs-3.5.7-22.fc7.i386.rpm kdelibs-3.5. 7-22.fc7.x86_64.rpm (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux when yum updated to above versions. Back to kde-filesystem-3.5-13.fc7.noarch.rpm kdebase-3.5.7-13.fc7.* kdelibs-3.5.7-21.fc7.* solved the problem. With the newer versions (kde-filesystem-3.92-9.fc7.noarch.rpm kdebase-3.5.7-13.1.fc7.x86_64.rp m kdebase-3.5.7-13.1.fc7.i386.rpm kdelibs-3.5.7-22.fc7.i386.rpm kdelibs-3.5.7-22.fc7.x86_64.rpm ) the pointers (cursors) kept working in the text screens, outside of X, which brought me to the idea that kde could be the problem. I only changed these updates back, don't have the insight to guess which of these modules did the trick. To be utmost complete I give the complete list of the updates yum did on the day in question, 5 october 2007: genisoimage - 1.1.6-5.fc7.x86_64 tzdata - 2007h-1.fc7.noarch goffice04 - 0.4.3-1.fc7.x86_64 openoffice.org-calc - 1:2.2.1-18.2.fc7.x86_64 libpurple - 2.2.1-1.fc7.x86_64 kdelibs - 6:3.5.7-22.fc7.x86_64 selinux-policy-targeted - 2.6.4-45.fc7.noarch kdebase - 6:3.5.7-13.1.fc7.x86_64 kdelibs - 6:3.5.7-22.fc7.i386 openoffice.org-xsltfilter - 1:2.2.1-18.2.fc7.x86_64 libselinux - 2.0.14-9.fc7.i386 openoffice.org-writer - 1:2.2.1-18.2.fc7.x86_64 rsync - 2.6.9-3.fc7.x86_64 dbus-glib - 0.73-3.fc7.i386 wodim - 1.1.6-5.fc7.x86_64 libselinux-python - 2.0.14-9.fc7.x86_64 icedax - 1.1.6-5.fc7.x86_64 fast-user-switch-applet - 2.17.4-5.fc7.x86_64 openoffice.org-math - 1:2.2.1-18.2.fc7.x86_64 fuse-libs - 2.7.0-6.fc7.x86_64 fuse - 2.7.0-6.fc7.x86_64 libselinux - 2.0.14-9.fc7.x86_64 selinux-policy - 2.6.4-45.fc7.noarch openoffice.org-impress - 1:2.2.1-18.2.fc7.x86_64 kdebase - 6:3.5.7-13.1.fc7.i386 alsa-utils - 1.0.14-2.fc7.x86_64 openoffice.org-core - 1:2.2.1-18.2.fc7.x86_64 openoffice.org-draw - 1:2.2.1-18.2.fc7.x86_64 dbus-glib - 0.73-3.fc7.x86_64 kde-filesystem - 3.92-9.fc7.noarch openoffice.org-graphicfilter - 1:2.2.1-18.2.fc7.x86_64 I wouldn't know of any other relevant info. Until I got f8 the problem persevered, despite other efforts. After I installed, not updated to, f8 everything was ok (with the same old xorg.conf). So I leave this bug behind me, don't know about you. Thanks, Jan Schabbink
Hello, Can you still reproduce the bug with the latest KDE 4 release? Thanks.
KDE3 is unmaintained.
