Version: 2.1 Cruiser (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux I was notified of a bunch of updates today, so i let Adept update but it's been stuck at "Preparing..." 0% for a while now. Inspecting the terminal output, it seems to be waiting for a keypress that is not possible to send to the stuck process. Output in terminal: """ fetchmail (6.3.6.rc3-1) unstable; urgency=low * Using at least one of the options "sslproto 'tls1'", "sslfingerprint" or "sslcertck" enforces STARTTLS for POP3 and IMAP and terminates the connection if unsuccessful. The same configuration causes permanent connection failure with POP2, which is obsolete and does not support STLS. fetchmail 6.3.5 and older had no way to enforce TLS. With those older versions, TLS was always opportunistic, but fetchmail would happily transmit the password in cleartext if STARTTLS failed. Configurations using --ssl --sslcertck however have been safe. -- Nico Golde <nico@ngolde.de> Tue, 21 Nov 2006 17:39:37 +0100 ~ ~ ~ ~ (END) """
Yes, well, if we ever get back terminal in Adept 3.x, I will tend to this request (remembering the state of the terminal). This is however somewhat unlikely, as the plan is to handle mostly everything in GUI. Also please note that 2.x has been discontinued.
We have special support for apt-listchanges now, so it will open a new terminal window in a pager. We also disable apt-listbugs, which does not work without a controlling terminal so far (and we don't have any in Adept 3). When at some point we get back a controlling terminal, we'll make sure that it works properly.
