Description Gabor CZIGOLA 2007-09-25 15:56:03 UTC
Version: all (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When you click Settings -> Hide menubar, you can not get it back!

Of course unless you try to find another KDE application that has the feature of hiding it's own menubar, and hope, that they share the same key-combination for this option.

One would guess you can right click the view field, where "Show menubar" can get it back, but:
- If you exit KPdf with a hidden menubar, and start it again, then neither the menubar nor the show menubar context-menu option will be shown.
- It is inconsistent to have the show menubar option (only) on the context-menu of the view field. Such an option IMHO should be listed at least in the window menu.

This not only affects KPdf, a lot of other KDE programs (KGet, Konqeror) share the same behavior.

Demoting to wishlist, as there is actually a way to get it back, you even know it.

The "show menu bar" has been added on the successor of kpdf, okular. Probably this will not be fixed on kpdf right?

Thank you for your bug report or feature suggestion.

The "KPDF" application is no longer maintained, and all tickets are now closed.

We recommend to switch to the "Okular" application.

Due to the high number of bugs/suggestions in "KPDF" we are not able to go through all of them and verify if they are still valid in "Okular".

That's why are we asking you to help us by checking if your bug/suggestion is still valid in Okular and if it still is opening a new bug/suggestion against it.

Thank you for your effort in making KDE better :)
