Description Andy Anderson 2007-09-22 00:06:18 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

A feature that would be really nice would be the ability to play music during slide shows, as one can in iphoto. It would be great to have the ability to fade music in at the start of the slide show and fade it out at the end. I think that features like this would go a long way toward making Linux distributions more integrated. Maybe some collaboration with the folks over at Amarok could be fruitful?

What do you think?

valerio,

If you is agree, i would to assign this bug to Advanced SlideShow, not digiKam Slideshow witch must still simple... What do you think about ?

Sounds good to me...

It would be a nice feature... I will probably have some problems with "Sound lenght vs. Vidao lenght", but... I'll give it a try ASAP.

Just an advice, as every new feature will be first implemented in KDE4/QT4, then backported to KDE3/QT3.

Implemented on svn (trunk).

digiKam 5.4.0 bundles will use QtAV framework instead Qt5Multimedia to thumb
and play video/audio. The Slideshow tool will also support video as well.

QtAV use ffmpeg codecs. It's multi-platform and will always available in
OSX, Windows and Linux bundles that digiKam team provide.

For Linux packagers, you will need to turn on video support at compilation time
and solve QtAV dependencies...
