Description Christian Banik 2007-08-17 17:23:10 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

I'm looking for a feature which sets specific application settings when entering a presentation mode (through KPDF, ooimpress, kpresenter etc.).

When a presentation is started, a specific presentation mode should be entered where:

- all notifications should be turned off, e.g. popups from Kopete or error messages from Kontact, alarms from KAlarm...
- all screen savers should be turned off
- all programs which require an interaction at a specific time, like RSIbreak should be paused.

The effect of this is that the user won't be disturbed with pop-up messages or unneccessary notifications while holding a presentation. Is there something like this already planned?

Cheers,
buschaot

You can use the presentation mode of KPowersave for most of your wishes. You can deactivate the screensaver and turn off all notifications. Don't know about your last point, though.

We have this now! This stuff happens automatically when either using a full-screen app, or when explicitly entering presentation mode, which can be toggled using the displays applet in the system tray.
