Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-16-generic

I'd installed the newest Nvidia Graphic Driver on my Compaq NX9105 Notebook. (Driver GPU (1.0-96xx): 1.0-9639 (Relese: 25.5.2007) )

After install and reboot the X-Server don't start. I had alrady wrote to nvidia bug report. Here are a copy of my conversation:

This is an Ubuntu packaging bug. You'll need to contact Ubuntu for
assistance.

I send this Bug-Report from another System because I dont know how to send one from console login. I can send the Nvidia-bug-report.log too if you wish.

What can I do? How can I reinstall the classic X-Server? Only uninstall of the nvidia driver don't help. But if you can say how I can install the nvidia driver correctly this is mutch better.

Best greetings
Mathias.

They told you as well:

Anyway, not a KDE problem, please ask to your distribution.
