Description Martin Bober 2007-07-29 17:27:07 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I cannot create new a new IMAP account in KMail using the KMail Setup Dialog. When trying to recieve the namespaces for privates, shares etc I get an error message saying "no connection to host <hostname>". I get the same error message when I try to probe the host for encryption and login methods. If I create the account ignoring these problems, I get the same error message when I try to get email from this account.

The connection parameters are checked and 100% correct. Getting email from existing IMAP accounts works fine though. I noticed the problem with OpenSuse 10.2 and Kubuntu 7.04.

I narrowed the problem down to the KIO-IMAP slave because trying to access the account from konqueror (adress: imap://<user>@<mailhost>) fails with the same error message.

Feel free to contact me for further informations. I hope the bug will be fixed soon, 'cause I need my IMAP.

Reassigning the bugs of the SMTP, IMAP and POP ioslaves to kdepim-bugs.

I switched to KDE4 but I think the problem was solved before I switched over
