Version: 0.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.6, compiled sources) Compiler: Target: i586-mandriva-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17-14mdv in the geolocalization plugin all is in french : - comments - the "more info" feature which launches english mapquest, googlemaps etc. it would be a good thing to have a french localization of this plugin. thank you to developper this plugin is very exciting !
Philippe, This tool is a kipi-plugin. This is a problem with your installation. French Translations are normally included. If not all strings are not yet translated, well contribute to finalize it... It's a non developper task. Gilles Caulier Note: i'm French Guy and an old French KDE translator (:==)))
you read to much fast. this not also a french language pb but a french localization for requesting french mapquest, google maps etc. instead of english mapquest, googlemaps etc.
Ok, I understand. It's not the gpssync kipi-plugin which I fully translated in french, but the links that digikam creates in its gps sidebar... Ok, I confirm the problem, I already saw it. It's in gpswidget.cpp, eg for google maps : case GoogleMaps: { url.append("http://maps.google.com/?q="); url.append(val.setNum(d->map->getLatitude(), 'g', 12)); url.append(","); url.append(val.setNum(d->map->getLongitude(), 'g', 12)); url.append("&spn=0.05,0.05&t=h&om=1&hl=en"); ==> hl=en If you put fr, it will be in french.
and i assume fr instead of com in maps.google.com ?
Created attachment 21164 [details] digikam menu
Created attachment 21165 [details] edit coordinate
> 19:09 ------- and i assume fr instead of com in maps.google.com ? Yes. But this is not general approach. To make everyone happy this plugin should keep database of country coordinates (or use .po file for that), detect locale and use it appropriately.
ok, i re-open this file. Gilles
Gilles, Philippe has opened a bug against mandriva as well. http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=31935 The mandriva version is kipi-plugins 0.1.3-2 and i found there is no french po files for gpsync there. 0.1.4 has it instead.
Angelo, This question is more dedicaced to Fabien, who is the official French translator. He can give you the current status of translations... Gilles
Gilles, what i wanted to say is to ask to reporter if he's using last version of kipi-plugins or not and if, the evaluate what is wrongly translated/localized.... cheers, Angelo
Ah, well, give me an aspirin, i'm tired (:=))) Gilles
This bug is part of the GPS widget inside digiKam and it's not related to the GPSSync kipi-plugin... Bug title is incorrect.
today i use : MDV 2007.1 kde 3.5.7 digikam 0.9.2 final kipi 0.1.5 All texte are in French. there is no more pb it remains the french localization of googlemaps, mapquest etc. it's a pity that sites has no sniffer to detect the language of my web explorer according to route to french version. to Fabien : what title do you suggest and do all the technies agree. If yes give me the title then i will change it
Mandriva 2009.1rc1 digikam 0.10.0 pb still there
SVN commit 1059043 by mghansen: Make it possible to adjust the language of Google Maps to the user's language if supported by Google Maps. CCBUG: 147921 M +24 -18 getlonlat.php M +9 -4 getlonlatalt.php M +7 -0 gpsmapwidget.cpp M +7 -0 gpstracklistwidget.cpp M +9 -3 tracklistedit.php WebSVN link: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=1059043
The embedded Google Maps can now be translated to the languages given by [1]. This does not change anything for the links for the GPS tab in Digikam. Michael [1] http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p9pdwsai2hDMsLkXsoM05KQ&gid=1

SVN commit 1061712 by mghansen: Remove language code from link to Google Maps, this way the language will be detected in the browser. CCBUG: 147921 M +1 -1 imagepropertiesgpstab.cpp WebSVN link: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=1061712
Language auto-detection works with (tested with French): - Google Maps - Openstreetmap It does not work with: - MapQuest - MSN Maps - MultiMap If there is a desire for other languages for those services, someone would have to find out the URI for those languages and we can add them using i18n - but we are in string freeze, so we would have to wait until after 1.0. Michael
thanks
Philippe, This file still valid using kipi-plugins 2.4 ? Gilles Caulier
digikam 1.9.0 1. in gps widget Language auto-detection works with (tested with French): - Google Maps - Openstreetmap - MSN Maps - MultiMap (today this is bing) It does not work with: - MapQuest all info bubles , all menus, all options are in french 2. in gps kipi plugin all is in french sorry don't know about 2.4
Philippe, It's time to update to 2.4.1 urgently now (:=))) ... Gilles Caulier
opensuse 13.1 , kde 4.12 , digikam 3.5 still valid note : thisreport is not about gpssync but gps widget
In both GPS widget is used. I see some fixed in shared libs managed by digiKam including translations catalog rules. I think this problem will disappear with next 4.0.0 release... Gilles Caulier
aacurerately this is the info-bulles (in english ?) which pop up when overing little icons that are in english instead of french and the menues of gps widget
