Description Barry Sullivan 2007-07-13 21:01:45 UTC
Version: 3.5.7-27.1x64 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Bugs 140802 and 137368 are similar, but I am not sure if they are the same.

It seems that any appointments which recur monthly, but on the same day of the week, are advanced by one day at each hotsync.

For example: an appointment for 9:00 am on the first Thursday of the month will, after one hotsync, will appear in Friday. If I do another hotsync the same appointment will now appear on Saturday and so on and so on.

This bug is very annoying because I have a lot of this type of appointments in my calendar.

Also ar least on of the similar bugs displays the status as resolved, but I cant find any indication as to what the resolution is. Do I need to install a different version, change my configuration or recompile from sources?

Hhat do I need to do?

Can someone please help? I have seen no action on this bug and it ha followed me through two upgrades I am now at kde 3.5.7-87.5. Since the status is still unconfirmed I assume that no one has really worked on it, or I have not provided enough information, or maybe I am the only one who has this problem. I would appreciate some feedback on this problem.

Thank you very much.

Hi Barry,

I am SO sorry it's taken so long for someone to get back to you on this. I will look into this bug right now. I think I've read another bug very much like this one. Let me look into it and get back to you. If you're able to help me test, any fixes I make will be made to the KDE 4.2 version of KPilot.

I'll update this bug with my findings quickly, I hope.

Thank you for the bug report!! Also, I'd really appreciate your help in testing out KPilot from the really-soon-to-be-released KDE 4.2!!! =:)

Barry, also, could you please update this with some specific steps I can take to reproduce this? Are you creating these records on the PC or on the Palm?

Thanks!!

Hi Barry,

I think we're doing a better job of this in KPilot from KDE 4.2. Here's what I tried:

- Created a new record on my Palm that repeats every month, on the third Sunday (today).
- Hotsynced with KPilot
- observed that Korganizer shows the event correctly, recurring on the third Sunday of every month
- Hotsynced about 10 more times.
- observed that the record didn't change on either side.

I believe that this is fixed because of the HUGELY improved syncing algorithm that we're using in KDE 4.2. We keep track of what records have changed ourselves instead of relying on the old method of asking korganizer to do it for us.
