Description Ross Boylan 2007-07-09 20:43:16 UTC
Version: 4:3.5.5.dfsg.1-6 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

1. Create a daily recurring to-do item with a particular time it is due.
2.If the due time has past, all items remains red in the weekly display, with a red checkbox. All recurring items, including those not yet due, display in the same way.
3. If you check done the item continues to have a red check. All recurrences display the same.
For both 2 and 3, clicking on the done item brings up a detailed display that is consistent with the visual display, i.e., it shows as 0% done.
4. The summary to-do's on the left appear to display correctly, i.e, when item is checked done the color changes and they may sort to a lower position in the list. Hovering over the item in this display shows the next due date.

At least in this case, the visual appearance of all recurring items seems to be the same. Double-clicking brings up details that are consistent with this. Double-clicking on different items does bring up details with different due dates.

Expected behavior:
The items in the calendar view should reflect their individual status.
Items not yet due should not be red.
Items done should have a grey check on them, not a red one. Their background should not be red.
Double-clicking should bring up details reflecting the completion status of the particular item.

I have had other problems with recurrences; in particular, moving the date of the next recurrence and requesting this applies to all recurrences doesn't seem to move the later recurrences, or at least some of the associated reminders. This happens with todo's that happen every other week. So if they occur on week 1, 3, 5, ... and I move the item for week 3 to week 4, I want subsequent occurrences to be on weeks 6, 8... but I still get material for week 5.

This bug is very similar to 121944 and 104558, and probably reflects the same underlying problem. However, note the following differences:
Neither involves todos with associated times (as far as I can tell).
Neither involves daily recurrences.

#121944 indicates the problem is that the done items do not vanish from the view. I don't expect them to vanish, but I do expect the visual state to change. Comment 1 of that bug seems closer to what I'm saying above.
#104558 concerns items displaying in the all day pane, rather than specific times.

thank you for your effort but please only one bug per report. i leave the other problems with recurrences out now.
i can reproduce the "every one is red" bug in r827xxx. is that a design flaw? so for every todo item a seperate "complete" value has to be stored.

Fixed a few weeks ago. Will be in kdepim 4.6.
