Description Rajen 2007-07-07 10:25:09 UTC
Version: 2.0 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Kfind will not follow symlinked sub-directories when "include subfolders" is checked. If I am searching in directory /some/path/to/foo and if directory "foo" contains symlinked directory "bar", then kfind will not look into "bar" for the search argument. Nor does Kfind provide any selectable option to specify whether symlinked directories are to be searched for a given search argument.

This bug is reproduced easily. Create a sym-linked directory in your home and try to search some file which is in that directory with the search path as your home directory. For example,

ln -sf /usr/share/doc /home/rajen/doc

Now suppose we search for 'perl' (which is available in /usr/share/doc) in /home/rajen, kfind does not search in /home/rajen/doc while searching for 'perl' even when "include subfolders" is checked.

Rajen.
