Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Non-english characters exported from Digikam do Gallery2 are changed to "?" For example there are polish "ł", "ś", "ę". Tested on kubuntu and knoppix
I use Korean characters in tags on occasion - these appear to be silently discarded during uploading to Flickr. Such tags can be added manually to Flickr, so I am guessing that the kipi-plugins export is discarding them? Added my vote.
Please note than any fix to this wont affect Flickr plugin as this report is against the galleryexport plugin...
Good point - thanks. I've filed a separate report instead (bug 155270).
This bug also happens on Ubuntu 8.04.1 when trying to export to gallery2 pictures with Chinese characters in the captions. Versions of the Ubuntu packages installed: kipi-plugins 0.1.5-1 digikam 2:0.9.3-2ubuntu1 I'm using Gnome as my desktop but I have no reason to believe it has any impact on the problem.
Probably fixed with commit 882181. Can you please try again and let me know?
Some fresh news from this entry ? It's fixed ? Gilles Caulier
kipi-plugins 1.2.0 I'm not sure if I should file a new report, but the problem still exists. Items added through the web interface of gallery2 work, but those exported by digiKam still have ? marks for non-latin characters.
Problem still persists in 1.9.0.
Marek, Ctibor, This file still valid using kipi-plugins 2.4 ? Gilles Caulier
Yes, I still encounter bug on kipi-plugins 2.4.1.
