Version: 1.9.7 (using KDE 3.5.7, Debian Package 4:3.5.7.dfsg.1-1~campus1 (4.0)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.21-1-686 Sometimes when browsing through folders (left side) kmail looses the fokus on the corresponding messages. That is on the right side where the content of a folder should be shown nothing is marked and no message content is shown. This behaviour appears e.g. when kmail is started.
Seems to be a lot like bug 96749.
This beaviour is NEW! That is I did not have the problem before the last update of KDE. Therefore I doubt that this is the same error as Bug 96749 which is much older! Martin
I can't reproduce. For me, there is always a message selected, usually the first one.
Maybe the behaviour changed but it is still not as I would expect it! I set "open a specific folder on startup". This seems to work! Now when I close the folder, using the "-"-sign it will be closed and it seems that the base folder ist shown. Now, when I reopen the folder that was opend before, this folder ist highlighted but the that is opened remains the base folder. Short description: Startup -> close folder (-) -> reopen folder (+) -> effect: the wrong content is shown. Regards, Martin
I'm not able to reproduce, anyway the new message and folder list have been rewritten on KDE 4.
In KDE 4.3 when you have set "Jump to last selected message" in configure/misc and you select a folder in the left tree you did not visit before, no mail is selected - which is not a problem I'd say. Or if you have defined "jump to first unread/new" and no such mail is in that folder, also no mail is selected. Martin, is that what you mean?
Thank you for the answer. Actually it's been quite a long time so I do not remember exactly. I do remember that in some cases when you switch to a different folder in the listing you do not see any message or you see a wrong list aof messages. In that case you have to deselect and select the folder again. Difficult to explain - sorry! The version is KMail 1.9.9 on KDE 3.5.10 Regards, Martin
Thanks for the hints. Anyway, as in KDE4 the underlying widgets have been rewritten, so the problem might no longer exist. Therefore, I'll close this bug now. If you have still the problem once you switched to KDE4, please reopen or create a new one.
