Version: 2.5.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux I get a crash message when I quit kate and if try to load a saved session. This behavior started immediately following upgrade to KDE 3.5.7. This is not fixed by re-installing kate. This bug is a show-stopper - it makes kate unusable for me. This bug seems to be a problem with session management. It happens only if, in config, the option under Session Behaviour on Application exit of Session Switch is set to "Ask User". Crash then happens no matter what option is chosen from the dialogue box that results from trying to quit Kate or switch session.
I've got this too. same system, same everything. even 'new session' crashes it. thanks for the workaround.
