Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Reported in Debian BTS at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=390575 I'm experiencing a strange behaviour of kicker. I use three panels on my desktop (top/left/bottom), and sometimes a panel disappears: if I go to kcontrol -> panels, I find it resized to 1% and placed in the left-bottom corner of the screen. The other two panels continue working perfectly. If I re-place it in its normal position, then it resumes to work. This is a very strange issue because - the panel that disappears is always the "last" one listed in the "Panels" section of kcontrol - it occurs randomly - it occurs on debian sid / kubuntu 6.06 / slackware - it occurs at different users, with different kicker configurations Further, if you have just one panel, hitting this problem and don't knowing that you can use alt+f2 to run kcontrol and reset the panel configuration will cut you out of the K menu, the systray, etc. -- I have the same or a similar problem with kicker: The panel is configured to disappear after some seconds, and to appear again when hitting the bottom. This works mostly perfect, but every few days the panel doesn't appear again. I have to go to kcontrol-->panel, change something (unimportant what) so that the apply button is selectable. After clicking the apply buttom the panel reappears.
Also occurs on SUSE 10.3 with default KDE 3.5 (3.5.7 "release 72.6") fully YAST updated. Solution is the same, kcontrol->desktop->panel and do any change and "apply" - taskbar (kicker) is than available again.
Kicker is currently unmaintained, you can look to your distribution for help, however.
