Description Mike 2007-06-09 06:11:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Unspecified
OS: Linux

From time to time we all receive error messages. Sometimes we know exactly what's wrong and from the short message alone we can correct the problem, however this isn't always the case. I think it would be great if it could be implemented throughout the entire OS by some way of standard error pop ups that include a link to search for the solution. Perhaps the link could default to a kde website or help forum which automatically searches for the solution. This would greatly improve the ease of use of the OS if a user could search for an error the same place all other KDE users were searching and posting solutions. Also, it would make searching errors more reliable where as users often try to paraphrase the error message which makes it more difficult for someone searching for a solution with the word for word error message.

with web-shortcuts in Konsole (mark error text ; right-click "search ERROR with google") we are almost there ! Some errors appear in windows were copy/paste is impossible though.
