Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages The Scanners based on the Grandtech GT-68xx chipset (mine is a Mustek UB 1200 Plus, specifically) need an additional firmware-image to work with Sane. (see http://www.meier-geinitz.de/sane/gt68xx-backend/ for further info) If this image isn't found, xsane reports correctly: "[gt68xx] Couldn't open firmware file (`/usr/share/sane/gt68xx/PS1fw.usb'): No such file or directory" However, Kooka reports the whole Sane installation as missing. It would be a lot more helpful if Kooka recognized firmware missing and gave instructions on how to get the scanner working. regards Harald
Same here on kubuntu feisty with kde 3.5.8 and kooka 0.44
