Description Daniel Bunzendahl 2007-06-05 13:49:25 UTC
Version: 1.1.0 (KOffice 1.6.0) (using KDE 3.5.5 "release 45.4" , openSUSE 10.2)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18.8-0.3-default

I wish there was a way to use different Tabels and a step more different Database on the same form.

At the moment there are no chance to work with Database with different Tabels for using data flexible.

A form can display data source coming fro mquery, which in turn, can contain joined data from multiple tables. The data is readonly though, for now.

Could you tell me how is your request related to MDB importing? -- I am looking for more precise sentences for this wish...

[bugs.kde.org quoted mail]

I was surching for a way to create a frontend to work with a MDB is the
backend of a company-intern Windows-Frontend.
The MDB is generated by a script (I thing so...) an I have no other chance
then get working a frontend is working with several MDB-Tabels over DB-Keys
like - for example - cusomernumbers. So I can show for one way the struktur
of connections between cusomer, seles and turnaround.
And my plan is to write scripts to get statistik datas.

My first Idea was to do this with QT from Trolltech.
But I have problems to get to work with this. Maybe because I have not enough
time to get in the process of QT-Designer and the other stuff. (Give me 12
month and I can take the time - I love to do projects like this. But I need
to stable my company)

I am working with linux like more then 10 jears - But I dosn't write code for
nearly 5 jears. And to write it in c++ .... no way. I nead a way to get it
work with short timesteps.

Maybe you can give me a tip how I find my way.

I think, Kexi is a mega powerfull way to get a tool for little companys and
one man show-companys to get effektiv processes. So mutch more people would
jump to linux.

Daniel,
Thanks for yout input. Kexi indeed is designed (at least I hope) to save months of devalopment performed again and again in various teams, not only open source, to glue heterogeneous database environments. There's no need to be C++ dev -- you can help by spreading the word, file bug reports and wishes. Stay tuned!

Perhaps it's a wish about subforms, I am not sure. Later, until some constructive wish is provided.
