Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: SuSE RPMs http://developer.kde.org/documentation/standards/kde/style/menus/settings.html The look of the top items suggest they are radio-button items which is rather very unlikely. Please change it to [ ] show menubar There is no clear description how items should be organized in case of switchable state -- for example "show/hide toolbar". Should text of the item change, or rather should text remain constant but there should be a checkbox. I opt for using checkboxes only -- changing the text instead of using checkboxes is not user-friendly. User has to read (and "parse") each entry from the start after the change, user has to focus on the items with no real need, it is just a waste of time. Providing (and enforcing via HIG) immutable text in items and using only checkbox to signal the change is more clear: a) the same content b) simple signal -- this option is simply "turned on"
