Version: 1.9.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages If there's a SMTP error when sending mail, a popup like the following one gets displayed: """ Sending failed: Unknown error code 50 The message content was not accepted. The server responded: "5.7.1 Rejected, id=31339-03 - SPAM" Please send a full bug report at http://bugs.kde.org. The message will stay in the 'outbox' folder until you either fix the problem (e.g. a broken address) or remove the message from the 'outbox' folder. The following transport protocol was used: smtp.example.com """ 1. What about "error code 50"? This does not seem to be the error returned from the server (which is 5.7.1). Looks like some internal library error code?! It should be made clear what this means. 2. The user should not send a bug report to bugs.kde.org, because it's a mail server/content issue. The should rather contact their admin/postmaster - in this case at least.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
