Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Currently user is forced to bind action "do something" with each mouse button. However action "do nothing / ignore this button" would be a handy one.
/me would suggest just not clicking one the mouse if you want nothing to happen...
Philip, it is ok with me, but: a) there are beginners b) there are three buttons mice It is typical reaction when somebody click MMB instead of LMB, get some fancy menu, or action and does not know what happens and how to revert it. For every computer (except mine :-) ) I would assign such actions: LMB activate task MMB nothing RMB nothing, or if someone is a bit smart -- context menu
On KDE4 MMB does nothing. I think that this bug can be closed.
? In KDE4.1.3 there is absolutely no change. Now and before it is the choice -- do something or do something else (and who knows what). It should be explicit combobox: MMB on link: [ ignore |v] MMB on page: [ ignore |v] with other choices like open in new tab, open address in clipboard, open selected text, and so on. So the wish is exactly as it was originally.
@plasma devs: could this wish be interesting for the plasma taskbar?
Just a reminder -- empty text is not equal to label "no action". Empty text (or entry in general) is meaningless: * it can be missing component bug * it can be untranslated text bug * it can be anything really Emptiness should not be used for informing user. It is really quite obvious principle so I am quite surprised it is questioned again and again.
Kicker is no more mantained and developed. All kcontrol related bugs to the old KDE 3 panel has been closed. Bugs and valid wishes applicable to KDE 4 has been added to a list. Regards.
