Description Paul Rolfe 2007-05-25 02:42:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

When I open the Home directory from desktop or "start?" menu I get an immediate sigabrt bug message. I do not have GDB installed currently, so cant do a backtrace.

I can open konqueror by running a command such as smb://my.ip.add.ress and then change folders to navigate.

However when I get to anything inside the tree /home it crashes.

One vital piece of information is that I have /home mounted on a secondary slave IDE device formatted ext3.

I have checked the integrity of the disk with fsck, and also the terminal is quite happy openeing the directory and viewing contents.

Kate doesn't seem to mind the directory either. In fact she (I assume it is female) is quite happy to browse the directory and open any file that I desire.
Comment 1 Paul Rolfe 2007-05-25 02:48:41 UTC
Further testing has revealved other directories on the main hard disk also cause the crash.

This is not isolated to the /ext3 mounted hard disks. The other hard disks may be irrelevant.

Comment 3 Paul Rolfe 2007-05-26 05:14:28 UTC
I am missing some symbols, I will try to get the extra debugging symbols.

I found it seems to crash when I open a directory that has a samba share on it. (The Icon with the red plug on it.)
