I have crackling scratchy sound whenever sound is played all the way from start-up, shutdown, wav, mp3 or movie. I have a sound blaster sound card. I have tried adjusting my settings in the control panel but I haven't noticed a change. I have a dual boot system with XP and mandriva 2007. I don't have any problem with windows sound.

But doesn't look like a KDE problem. Try to find help at a mailing list or forum instead.
