Description Martin Fischer 2007-05-15 15:28:50 UTC
Version: KMail 1.9.6 (KDE 3.5.6 "release 85.1" openSUSE) (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

hiya!

since i have updated my kde 3.5.5 from opensuse repository to 3.5.6, kmail and kopete lost the stored passwords.

i don't use kwallet, it's disabled and not configured.

when i start kmail a popup tell me, that the authentication for this account failed, maybe the password is wrong. in a second window kmail ask for the password and the checkbox "save password" is enabled. when i set my password and click ok everything it seems, that the password is stored. when i close and start kmail the same error again.

i trie'd this on 2 machines. on both the same error.

regards!

Does your password use special characters, especially "!" ?
Comment 2 Martin Fischer 2007-05-17 23:02:32 UTC
yes! i play yesterday a little bit with kwallet.. when i view the saved password in kwallet there are escape-code before and after the "!".. it's seems there is a problem not only in kmail without kwallet...
