Version: 3.4.0 (using KDE 3.5.6, Debian Package 4:3.5.6.r1.dfsg.1-4 (lenny/sid)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-4-686 no autosave option for default kdevelop editor, even though option is present in kwrite. buggy kde version causes abrupt session closure with loss of all work in kdevelop.
This is a new feature, not a bug. If your KDE is buggy thats not KDevelop's fault. Also I can't find any autosave setting in KWrite, nor does it save anywhere if I kill it.
The move to wish list is appropriate. As a matter of fact, it *is* KDevelop's fault if I lose my work to a buggy KDE system since it should have an autosave feature in place in case of an eventuality like that, just like "^z" is a standard feature of editors in case a mistake is made. I didn't say that its not KDevelops fault if you loose your work. I said its not kdevelops fault if your system is buggy.
moving this to kate. Automatic saving of files should be done in the editor part.
