Description Pawel Dziekonski 2007-04-22 17:51:48 UTC
Version: kmenuedit 0.7 kde 3.5.6 release 64.1 openSUSE (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs
OS:                Linux

openSUSE 10.2.
after installing RealPlayer I noticed that menu entry for it is in the main branch of Multimedia menu. so I moved it to Video players branch. after that I noticed that there is already a menu entry for realplayer in this branch, so I deleted one of entries. then Save and Quit. a result is on the screenshot - most of branches from Multimedia are gone while they are still visible in kmenuedit. a menu search finds all those applications too.

I created yet another new user - same, half-empty Multimedia menu appears.

This is normal, the "reduce menu depth" patch flattens submenus containing only one item into a top level item.

The workaround is to add the following line to the [menus] section of the $HOME/.kde/share/config/kickerrc file:

ReduceMenuDepth=false
