Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Konqueror does not accept SSL certificates it has been told to accept "forever" for more than an hour. Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to a site than has an incorrect SSL certificate 2. You get "The IP address of the host example.net does not match the one the certificate was issued to." Choose "Continue". 3. You get "Would you like to accept this certificate forever without being prompted?" Choose "Forever". 4. Leave the site. 5. Come back after over an hour. Expected result: Konqueror should accept the certificate without complaint forever, as told. Actual result: Konqueror asks those questions again.

Hi, sorry if this input isnt really helpfull (ive only just started using kubuntu) but i figured i'd give my 2cents anyway. I have this problem aswell. First of all, this happens even though the web addresses seem identical, for me at least - although i guess thats not what this bug report is about. I also have the same problem described where the certificate is not accepted for ever (but rather for 'just an hour'). I had a thought as to what this may relate to: go kcontrol > security & privacy > crypto > peer SSL certificates Then highlight the certificate in question. At the bottom it has the 'cache' option, which is either 'until' (and then gives some time) or 'permanently'. The 'until' time is an hour after when you first accept the certificate (for me atleast) which seems a cooincidence given the figure of an hour for the expiry timeframe that people have experienced. Is it possible the error is that the default selection should be 'permanently' rather than 'until', hence accepting the certificate forever? Sorry if this comment is mis-placed or i just have completely missed the mark(!), but on the off-chance this is the cause i thought i would speak up. Regards, kevin
