Description Alfonso Lopez 2007-04-03 15:48:34 UTC
Version: 1.9.5 (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-5 (4.0))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16-1-k7

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a whilst, so I sorry if I've chosen the bad option.

I've configured kmail in order to periodically test for new mails. But I don't like the "save password" feature, so I write my password each time I open kmail.

On the other hand, I've associated email files to "kmail --view" so when I click on a file previously saved with kmail I can see it.
If kmail is not launched, when i open a saved mail the "kmail --view" opens correctly, and shows the mail. The strange point is that periodically a dialog box appears asking for my password in the mail account configured in kmail.
I find this quite confusing because kmail is not launched (at least "visually", because i'm only seing a mail window). In fact, I _can't_ see the rest of my mails, or write a new one. The main window of kmail is not visible, so it's quite strange that passwords were asked, because I would be able to read them!

   Thank you very much,
       Pedro Pablo

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
