Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux E.g. I have set the icon size for konqueror filemanager to 96. Now I choose an icon for a folder which is only available in 128 and 64 and below. Instead of using the 128x128 icon and scale it down to 96x96 the 64x64 icon is used and scaled up - which results in a badly blurry icon. Really nasty it gets when the next smaller icon is such small as 32x32. Expected behaviour: When an icon is not available in the right size the next bigger icon should be used and scaled down instead of using the next smaller icon and scale it up - a scaled down icon is always much clearer than a scaled up icon.
What is doing KDE 4 on this situation?
Problem still exists in dolphin of KDE 4.2.3. I've created a test icon in size 32x32 and 128x128, set the icon size to 64x64, created a new folder and assigned the test icon to it. Badly blurry, icon is scaled up from 32 not scaled down from 128.
To be more precise: It doesn't only happen in dolphin (konqueror, folder view widget). And when I set the icon size to 96 the icon is scaled down from 128 which is the desired behaviour. But when I set the icon size in dolphin etc. to something below that the icon for this folder is scaled up from the next smaller available version, in this case 32. And an icon scaled up from 32x32 to 80x80 looks quite "funny". Maybe someone can assign this to some other part than kdesktop please?
