Description Andrew 2007-02-28 19:14:04 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

KDE should include a simple real-time software equalizer that sits in the system tray. This would be useful for other multimedia apps that don't have equalizers in them. It should at least be a 10-band equalizer like the one included in Amarok.

is this still a valid wish?

I'm begging for a graphic eq. My speakers just need a little more push in them. At least let me adjust bass and treble. These speakers sound great for what they are (usb laptop speakers) but they could use just a little more push from the low end spectrum. With the bass and treble sliders in Windows 7, a little tweak made them sound so much better. If it's at all possible this is the only feature that I really miss from Windows now.
Plus, all windows gives you is bass and treble sliders. A whole EQ system-wide would be unbelievable.

I do believe this is more of a feature for KMix in combination with PulseAudio... gotta talk to some people.
Comment 5 Colin Guthrie 2011-03-03 09:42:24 UTC
Yeah this will be possible with PulseAudio when we release git master (current estimate is 2months (ish))

It contains an equaliser sink that can sit on top of your system sink. GUIs will need to be provided (perhaps in kmix as Harald suggested) or there is already a separate (python+qt based) GUI that can be used which will be included in PA itself.

Any news on this? I guess the mentioned equaliser sink is now there, what is still missing to make it work?
Comment 9 Christian Esken 2013-07-20 08:41:52 UTC
Nobody is currently interested to work on this. Interested developers should contact me, preferable by mail. Unless that happens, there will be no equalizer support.
Comment 10 Christian Esken 2013-07-20 08:43:09 UTC
Putting on-hold, until somebody is interested to do this.
